7 Styling Tips for Modest Summer /Hijabi Outfits and Where to Buy From

In this day and age, modest outfits is becoming increasingly fashionable but still not accessible. As a Muslim girl who wants to dress modestly in the summer, I understand the challenges of finding modest clothing that is both comfortable, covering and stylish. After experiencing and experimenting with many styles, here are some styling tips I want to share for dressing modestly in the summer including where to buy them from (don't worry, I have linked brands and products within the text):

Choose lightweight and breathable fabrics:

Look for fabrics like cotton and linen that are lightweight and breathable to keep you cool in the heat. The same goes for hijabs - jersey and chiffon look and feel best in the summer.

Look at brands such as H&M, Veiled, Primark and Zara for summer-friendly clothing items.

Opt for loose-fitting clothing:

Loose-fitting clothing will allow air to circulate and keep you cool in the summer. Look for loose-fitting tops, dresses, and skirts that are comfortable and modest. Maxi dresses and skirts are both modest and stylish. They are also comfortable and cool, making them perfect for summer.

Zahraa the Label, Veiled and Fares have great options for loose-fitted co-ords sets and dresses.

Layer with a lightweight cardigan, shirt or kimono:

If you need to cover your arms, consider layering with a lightweight cardigan, shirt or kimono. These can be easily removed if you get too hot, but provide modest coverage when you need it.

Purchase neutral colours that you can wear with almost anything i.e. white, beige, cream and grey.

Wear a wide-brimmed hat:

A wide-brimmed hat can help protect your face and neck from the sun while also adding a stylish touch to your outfit.

Choose modest swimwear:

Look for modest swimwear options such as full-coverage swimsuits, swim dresses, or burkinis. These will provide the coverage you need while still allowing you to enjoy the water.

Look no further for covering swimwear, Muslim-owned brands such as, Lyra Swimwear, or Amazon modest swimwear offer good quality and price.

Accessorize with statement jewellery and scarves:

Add a pop of colour to your outfit with statement jewellery or scarves. These can also be used to cover your hair and add an extra layer of modesty to your outfit.

I always wear gold rings and necklaces as they go with every outfit, I always add a nice bag and complementary shoes.

Buy Sleaves From Amazon:

I would recommend buying a pack of 6 sleeves with basic colours with you can wear for extra coverage without layering completely. Wear these with short-sleeved shirts and T-shirts or for extra lining under white clothes!

By following these styling tips, you can build your modest summer outfit confidently and comfortably in the summer while still staying stylish. Remember that modest fashion can be both practical and fashionable, and with a little creativity, you can create a summer wardrobe that reflects your personal style while also honouring your modesty.
